St. Croix County Announces Fall Recycling Collection Events

St. Croix County, Wis.: Do you have old TVs, computers, appliances, scrap metal, or even upholstered furniture that you’re not sure what to do with? St. Croix County’s recycling collection events make it easy for residents to recycle these hard-to-dispose-of items.

New Disposal Event for Upholstered Furniture

Upholstered furniture can be difficult to donate due to contamination or moisture. St. Croix County is holding a special collection event to help residents properly dispose of these items at a reduced cost.

  • Tuesday, September 23
    • 8 am – 2 pm
    • Olson’s Sanitation Transfer Station – 651 Shay Street, Somerset, WI

ONLY the following items will be accepted:

  • Upholstered couches
  • Upholstered loveseats
  • Upholstered chairs
  • Upholstered ottomans
  • Bring other items on another day

Event Details:

  • $10 per item(maximum of 4 items per household)
  • Cash only– please bring exact change
  • This event is for or St. Croix County residents only
  • Residents must unload their own items
  • Funding is limited

Electronics Recycling Event (Free!)

ACCEPTED ITEMS: TVs, computers, cell phones, gaming consoles, and more (go to our website for details).
NOT ACCEPTED: Batteries, appliances, and fluorescent bulbs.

  • Thursday, September 11:
    • 2 – 6 pm
    • Croix County Highway Facility, 300 Oak Ridge Parkway, Baldwin

Appliance & Scrap Metal Collection Event (Free!)

Residents can drop off washers, dryers, microwaves, lawnmowers, power tools, and other metal items (go to our website for details). Please plan to unload your own items. Proceeds support the St. Croix County Sheriff’s K9 Unit. Items brought to this collection must be at least 60% metal.

  • Wednesday, October 8:
    • Noon – 6 pm
    • Croix County Highway Facility, 300 Oak Ridge Parkway, Baldwin
