Town of Star Prairie residents have access to the City of New Richmond's compost site. Located at 1935 115th Street in New Richmond, the site is open seasonally, and residents are encouraged to check the City's website for hours of operation.
Compost Site Rules & Expectations
The use of City of New Richmond's compost site is offered on a trial basis. Access cards are good for a one-time use and may not be used to dispose of waste produced by commercial lawn, landscape or tree businesses, or properties outside the Town of Star Prairie.
Accepted Items
Leaves | Biodegradable bags accepted; no plastic
Lawn Clippings
Vegetable Garden Waste | Stalks, stems and leaves
Straw and Hay | Remove twine
Branches/Brush
Prohibited Materials
Stumps or Roots
Rocks
Manure or Animal Waste
Erosion Control Blankets or Mats
Any Non-Yard Waste Material
Metal, plastic, garbage, construction debris, landscape timbers
Upon arrival to the compost site, residents will show photo ID and give the access card to the City of New Richmond employee.
